Upcoming events and workshops to prepare staff for the new academic year

The Enhanced Academic Practice team – part of Organisational Development – will be running events and workshops to prepare you for the new academic year.

Below are some of the sessions you can attend:  

  • Personal Academic Tutoring 
  • How to be a Module Leader 
  • Using the Peer Assessment Activity  
  • Practical steps to decolonise your resources 
  • How to be a Programme Leader  
  • Strategies to maximise the learning in large groups 
  • How to deliver small groups 
  • TEL me about… learning technologies 
  • Using technologies in the lecture theatre  
  • Effective use of technology for Assessment and Feedback   
  • Getting to grips with Gradescope  
  • Using Vevox for in-class polling 
  • Efficient and detailed feedback: An introduction to advanced marking options and rubrics   

 

New to this year are ‘TEL me about....’ sessions where the Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) team will be showcasing different tools/ concepts and taking Q&As.  

The Enhanced Academic Practice ‘Spotlight on’ events have been scheduled for the rest of the year with themes such as ‘the GenZ learner’, ‘Artificial Intelligence in Education’ and the’ Global Classroom’.
